Mission Statement:
The mission of the City of Gallup Office of Emergency Management is to provide an integrated, comprehensive emergency management program for the City of Gallup. The office is responsible for the preparedness, training, and coordination of emergency response and recovery efforts within the City. The Office of Emergency Management plans for natural, manmade, or technological hazards that could adversely affect all sustainable operations of the city and it’s citizens. This includes:
• Exercises
• Incident Command Training for all city employees
• Public Service Announcements
Emergency management in the United States has been described for the past three decades as a “four phase” process, involving:
• Mitigation
• Preparedness
• Response
• Recovery
