The mission of the Gallup Fire Department is to provide leadership, coordination, and delivery of emergency medical services, fire prevention, fire suppression, and related services for the safety and protection of the people. Our department consists of 42 uniformed fire fighters, including six Lieutenants and three Battalion Chief's. Administration consists of a Fire Marshal, Fire Inspector, Assistant Chief of Training and EMS, Emergency Management Specialist, Administrative Specialist, Deputy Chief, and Fire Chief.
We respond to over 6000 calls for help each year. Our engine companies, medical rescues, and ladder companies all are equipped to provide emergency medical care. Each of our firefighters is trained in the following areas:
- Emergency Medical Technician–Basic, Intermediate, and Paramedic;
- Firefighter IFSAC I, II;
- Driver Operator
- Hazardous Materials-Operations and Tech levels.
- Fire Officer IFSAC I, II, III, IV
